I notice in my notes that I was reading further in Balzac's Goriot
on September 11th 2001...
Also: The attack occurs in the morning before I leave work,Dean
informing me about the Towers.( In the breakroom.) Michelle was
there too; Vicki came in at that moment, quite in a panic and
tears. Our shock is real but mediocre, verges on it anyhow
I hear the disbelief: how could Terrorists have the capacity
to bring down such large buildings!
Comparisons out of history do not however come to mind, for a
first act. Pearl Harbor of course...
Large scale attacks will never be the same...
A new and horror inspiring picture of terror...

But what about this Bombscare up in Grand Forks? Did I hear right,
that a middle eastern man was taken off one of the Flights, that it
stopped there for this purpose?

My own carelessness is apt to get out of hand,as I continue to mumble
a prose which barely delivers cautionary advertisement...

No way
man,
you don't do it
that way...

And so then to go overboard
wasn't at all unreasonable,
for life in the immediacy
offered so much charm,
it was furthermore offering
great promise...

One more night comes and
goes by in talkingblues
of music hoopla
especially Rock
n Roll
R&B of course...

You said it
was only
the temperature
rising.

Around us?
That was my line

I said that
to her and
what did she answer?

IN the room
it is warm
so warm
plenty war
I needed
to peel off my sweater
fifteen minutes into the visit...

Tilendebringe? How can one's viewpoint
go so far from the center?

Magic, right in the middle of a sentiment...
Would you appreciate that?

blogbecomings...brieftrayger? nearly lost this post...
50% of the armies leading officiers laid off in time of war, which war? Army's staff,
always shorthanded on those fit to lead, sorely gains by such proceedings...
Could use this space for blahs...Outloud.And the wind has suddenly brough blue sky!
(IN the hallway activity footsteps. Sunshine outside.) Size. perspective. Learning
about curves. Losses in general...I'll be damned.Runaround town.Doingthings. A
strong belief instead of conviction. Got to be fair: carried away or forget that!
You can't go to McDonald's drive-thru a thirdtime before noon,that seems extreme.
A line that develops here but nowhere else...Went to SalvationArmy for breakfast

History in a cyclical view begins in the Eighteen eighties for me; the previous years
were preNew world so to speak...
Tobias Hagen, for instance, arrives in Dakota Territory in Eighty-three; and the others came later on in the same decade, yet before Eighteen ninety.
As an example the CivilWar appears something like 2o years before...

Notes

Notations in the rough and almost ready mode
1.Landmassive and very middlesituated...
2.Oh yes a few,a very few select ideas are in control, while I work on a
technic which will some expansion in the plan.
3. (there ought to be a plan somewhere in the background...)
4.Here it is a perceptible favor that allows for an open circuit, yet a smudged
metaphysic on the napkin makes for arduous interpretation...
5.Haven't I written too much?
6.Haven't you seen enough and read this so called slouch far too long?
7.To admit this kind of talent,to encourage this luckless understudy...
8.Basic funny jive without farther modification...
9.Stupidity seems to derive from some resource that the majority of us have
forgotten,a good halfdozen years before leaving home...
10. I still haven't discovered that Sucker of a word...
11. Free trade agreements: is this a place to ask anything you like, whatever you
please?
12. Brainwaves also nodding out...Which is when the subject matter of one's
main advantage suddenly ends, and finds itself erratic even dumbfounded...
13. I have the impression more and more that my concepts leave the field of
common sense as soon as I formulate them into a linguistic formula...
14. I'm batching it; and this career isn't panning out...

The not so well known walk on through phase,by which I mean you have a bitpart to play...

reading list: Strange Defeat by Marc Bloch and Primo Levi's Auschwitz...God is that
the correct spelling? I can't imagine the straightforward answer but I'll be checking
my copy in a few minutes, then I can take the time to do the necessary change.
thinking outloud: sometimes it can be a sickening experience, something like shooting off one's mouth and moving beyond acceptable usage...

DrugLords have prestige and power in Rio; but in the meanwhile I am drinking a cold beer just four blocks south...The edge of downtown on Broadway...

Hardee's closed their downtown location too,so one can't walk for the coffeebreak to
our downtown either, unless the higher prices at the upscale coffee shops are an
indifferent subject...But then you can't have a refill at those highend establishments...

Bringing back to the blog facts from the streetlife: you can probably get this accomplished if you stay alert...

Part of my trouble must be in the stupidity I feel...

October 29th 2011
A brisk wind and near fifty degrees; across
University avenue the crowded dome parkinglot;
the Bison are inside on the gridiron competing...

Across town: distracted. Bringinghome some external facts. In spite of the distractions you can
do this very well, but being alert is part of the success.

It was reported today that Jeff Morkin committed suicide...Over the Labor Day

The world must now hold its breath...Or rather learn to breath...

Back to the basics at the warehouse this morning, the big load was out of reach but the little was at least something like a replacement...May didn't start off with a bang, but it brought in a twenty-spot...And I drove over to the Caribou immediately for a lightroast.

Friday, April 29, 2011

There was a small earthquake in Minnesota yesterday,in Douglas County I believe;
although less than 3 on the seizmic scale,it is rare. It is hard to imagine the fault line, and that is about it for my reaction. But it might lead me to some research,in particular the picture of things underneath us...

Thursday, April 28, 2011

Woke up this morning with a stiff neck,I think the unusual position I fell asleep in has
had something,if not everything,to do with this pain; but the outcome for the time-being points to a cranky personality...I bought three paperbacks at the thriftstore immediately after lunch, and drove back to the apartment...

For a instant to imagine a person without hope.Where is this person? Why do I refer
to him as a person, for that matter? Of course we shall find him all over, anywhere.Alright,so perhaps I might draw this point out a little by declaring it
to be an excercise, for times when depression falls in our way. As if the living encounters brought us to a level where a series of anxieties troubled our feelings;something like hope is called for then. But after all this life here below, doesn't unreservedly include the attendance of this hope...

A later addition: let us be aware that in America the politics, foreign and domestic alike, cut a wide and generous swathe. Because? Well I'm behind the times and find myself forced to regard the so-called generosity and bigness in general to crack
the idea's skin...(from sometime in the 1970's) Probably 75...

But in a Van parked on the southside
of Jevnaker hard enough to picture, almost unthinkable
despite the available words. So shortsuited this hand;
cards that I am sorry were dealt to me this hand; yet
a very keen example of my 17mile corner collection

For I've taken dream extracts also, which suggests I'm still
close to that Personal unconscious, within a stone's throw
of a id entirely consumed by traffic moving in every quarter...

So fine a product the marketplace seldom sees...

You can frequently estimate the age of a farmstead by a study of its Silo alone...

It should be said that in the Nineteen forties quite a number of silos were put up,
the war years increased demand and there was extra money for such constructions.

Let's allow ourselves a generous interval in which to become sounder, before exposing our savage parts overall to the light of day...

The river has started to fall too so this is a very encouraging sign. The Redriver of the North. But farther north the water continues to flood areas that haven't seen
standing water like this for decades. According to one witness who was at least 70...
A heap of scraps: a good description of my rooms, but they are inedible...

An Eighties flashback: thinking about 10-4,from CBradio usage; that is almost an
uncritical take (as it were) of waiting around for semiloads to show up; an overanxious heart pressing the will and twisting the ego into a tangled localese.
But I haven't rewritten very much from that era...It would be unfair to rewrite my
journal anyhow, and still I often make the attempt, without understanding the motive...Nevertheless the economy of that period deposits a number of exotic lures
barely covered by a seam of literate clay...
Some might refer to this as a format for progress backfiring...

April 1oth bit parts and pieces: (from brief solitaries) To ward off the tendency to
exaggerate problems, and make solutions believably convincing...
1. Isn't there always a number 1?
2. Wagers and risks go together in a file by themselves...
3. Friends and neighbors seldom understand a writer's doldrums...
4. Fact finding trips...Blending news or rather the items people develop into parts
and places which fall under the headlines...Sudden spells, obvious spills, generous
helpings and furious debates. Advertising for fastfoodplaces which have turned
into coffeeklatches...Unintended consequences

The river must be nearcresting. But I was just over by the river and 2 of the 3 bridges
are open. In open country there are large tracts of land underwater, sheets of water
mainly, although I saw deep water in places north of Fargo, almost level with the
southbound lane,from Argusville south.
On the face of the glacier,on a slant going nowhere...The eyes leave their lucid parts...This is the feature that I want to do my best in...Using rank and file inwardly, toward discoveries of terms...Sleepiness takes over such deformed articles.Fountains inside icebergs.

In the middle of this regenerated blog start-up I abruptly went on a fishingtrip to Lake of the Woods; we walked out on the ice at LongPoint, straight out from the Public access. But the catching was slow. The southshore can be that way; but I managed to catch a nice walleye and a decent sauger,so I think the trip ought to be considered something of success; in particular since the rainclouds came out of the
south and drove us off the lake around 3PM...

I cannot tell if this no-go sunday morning assignment is permanent; and whether my obscurity
on the subject stays obscure. But it is a setback, moreover it perplexes attitude; moodiness
gets the upperhand, which is a real fright.

Two years have passed by...No continuation here but a few words point toward a coming change,
we'll see how it pans out...
